GOVERNMENT APPROVES 7TH PAY COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TEACHERS OF TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS

The Ministry of Human Resource Development Tuesday approved a proposal to extend the seventh pay commission recommendations to academic staff of government and aided technical institutions with granting of Rs 1,241 crore for the purpose.

"This will directly benefit a total of 29,264 teachers and other academic staff of state government funded institutes. Besides, about 3.5 lakh teachers and other academic staff of private colleges or institutions within the purview of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) will also benefit from the approval," Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar told reporters.

"The central government will also reimburse 50 per cent of total additional expenditure to be incurred by these institutes for the payment of arrears on account of 7th Central Pay Commission implementation," he added.

7th Pay Commission: After coming up with 10 per cent quota for upper caste poor, the Narendra Modi government has today announced a big pay hike for lakhs of state government employees. The Central government today approved the proposal to extend the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) to the teachers and other academic staff of the state government and government-aided degree level technical institution in the country. This will have put an additional liability of Rs 1241.78 crore at the central government.

News agency ANI tweeted that the central government will reimburse 50% of the total addition expenditure (from 1.1.2016 to 31.3.2019) to be incurred by these institutes for payment of arrears on account of 7th Central Pay Commission.

The move will benefit lakhs of academic staff members. The sudden announcement has raised the hope of the Central government employees who have been waiting for the over and above 7th CPC pay hike. The Central government employees, who have been getting pay by the fitment factor of 2.57 times, have been demanding a hike by the fitment factor of 3.68 times. A hike by 3.68 times will increase the basic salary to Rs 26,000 from the current Rs 18,000. There are around 48.41 lakh Central government employees and 62.03 lakh pensioners who will benefit from the hike in fitment factor.

GUJARAT TO IMPLEMENT 10% RESERVATION FOR UPPER CASTE AND MINORITY POOR

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has stated that his government will begin the process of implementing the Constitution (103 Amendment) Act, 2019 from today (14 January), reports Indian Express.

The Act reserves ten per cent of the seats in education and jobs for economically weaker sections in the general category.

"The economically weaker sections from the general category will get 10 percent reservation in admissions to higher education and government jobs starting 14 January," said the Gujarat government in a release.

The release added that the new quota would not apply to recruitment or admission processes - tests or interviews - which were started before 14 January.

This announcement comes a day after the President gave his assent to the Amendment bill, thereby adding the new reservation clauses to the Constitution.

In 2016, though the BJP government in Gujarat under Anandiben Patel, had announced a similar ten per cent quota for the economically backward among upper castes, the ordinance was squashed by Gujarat High Court.

The Gujarat government said on Sunday that it will implement the 10% reservations for the economically backward sections of the general category from January 14.

On Saturday, President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the constitutional amendment to allow the 10% quota.

“The economically weaker sections from the general category will get 10 per cent reservation in admissions to higher education and government jobs starting Uttarayan on January 14,” the state government said in a release.

The new quota will also be implemented in admissions and jobs that were advertised before January 14 but for which the actual process has not started, it said.

In such cases, fresh announcement about the admission process or jobs will have to be made.

However, if the recruitment or admission process – tests or interviews – has started before January 14, the 10% quota would not apply, the release added.

New Delhi, November 22: Supreme Court judges and 24 High Courts will also be able t get the benefit of increments under the 7th Pay Commission. In the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday the Union Cabinet has approved the amendment in the pension, wages, allowances of the allowances and the pensio of the judges, who are working and retired from the Supreme Court of India and the high Court. The decision is to implement the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission regarding civil servants
The approval of the Cabinet given in the meeting presided over by Prime Minister Mod today, necessary amendments in two laws, i. the judges of the Supreme Court (Salary and Conditions of Service) Act, 1988 and the Judges of the High Court (Salary and Terms of Service) Act, 1954
These two laws deal with the judges of the Supreme Court of India, respectively, with the salary of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and all the judges of the chief judiciary and the high court.
The increase in the salary and allowance structure after this judgment With 10 9 judge of the courts, including the Chief Justice, 31 judges of the Supreme Court are beneficial. Apart from this, 2500 retired judges will also benefit from this decision, because their pension and gratuity has been increased according to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
The Cabinet has decided to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commissio regarding retrospective effect from January 1 2016. The Government said in a statement: "Dues due to revised pay, gratuity, pension and family pension 01 In the meantime, the Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 15th Finance Commission today. A government statement states, "The terms of reference for the 15th Finance Commission will be notified as per the timing."
The government is bound under Article 280 ( for the formation of the Finance Commission for every five years, or if the President finds it necessary, the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission will include five years starting from April 1, 2020 The last finance commission will be formally terminated.
