The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has decided to make tougher the SSC multiple choice question (MCQ) paper. Say it interesting or untoward, but the board thinks its teachers are not up to the mark to do the job of setting tougher questions, and henceforth, has decided to outsource the work from some independent agencies.
Viewing the competition scenario, the state board students should bein line with the students of central and international boards, and in order to make that happen, their level has to be raised, letting themperform equally well in the national level competitive exams, said.
Initially, the board had assigned the GSHSEB teachers for the task of formulating a bank of questions that would pose teasers to the students and cream out the brightest from the average students. But sadly, out of the 1, 500 questions submitted by the teachers of each subject, only 30 (apprx) were qualified to come into the category of 'tough'. Most of the questions were found to be picked from the guides available inthe market.

The board’s officer on special duty (OSD), M M Pathan, revealed that an agency would be hired to devise a bank of tough MCQs that would aim at testing the students’ understanding about the subject. He further disclosed that last year around 5% questions in the MCQ paper of 50 marks were intentionally asked of a higher standard in order to scale up the knowledge level of board students. Following that, this year the number of tough questions would be bigger.

Viewing the competition scenario, the state board students should be in line with the students of central and international boards, and in order to make that happen, their level has to be raised, letting them perform equally well in the national level competitive exams, said.

The first introduction of a mutual fund in India occurred in 1963, when the Government of India launched Unit Trust of India (UTI).
UTI enjoyed a monopoly in the Indian mutual fund market until 1987, when a host of other government-controlled Indian financial companies established their own funds, including State Bank of India, Canara Bank, and Punjab National Bank. This market was made open to private players in 1993, as a result of the historic constitutional amendments brought forward by the then Congress-led government under the existing regime of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (LPG). The first private sector fund to operate in India was Kothari Pioneer, which later merged with Franklin Templeton. In 1996, SEBI, the regulator of mutual funds in India, formulated the Mutual Fund Regulation which is a comprehensive regulatory framework.
Deposit being available in the market[3] less than 10% of Indian households have invested in mutual funds.[citation needed] A recent report on Mutual Fund Investments in India published by research and analytics firm, Boston Analytics, suggests investors are holding back from putting their money into mutual funds due to their perceived high risk and a lack of information on how mutual funds work.[4] There are 46 Mutual Funds as of June 2013.
The primary reason for not investing appears to be correlated with city size. Among respondents with a high savings rate, close to 40% of those who live in metros and Tier I cities considered such investments to be very risky, whereas 33% of those in Tier II cities said they did not know how or where to invest in such assets.
