Relief for 45 lakh employees, 5 out of 5 hospitals can be treated
The Supreme Court's verdict has received huge relief from about 45 lakh central government employees. If CGS Panels do not have facilities in hospitals, they will be paid back in the hospitals outside the panel, if they are to be treated for services or retired staff or their families. That means the amount spent on the treatment will be reimbursed.
According to the Supreme Court's order on the public application filed in this regard, there will be no obstruction between Warren and Reimbursements. This petition was filed by former officer of the Indian Revenue Service and Supreme Court Advocate Shivakant Jha.
Shivakant Jha, in 2003, got treatment for his cardiology at Fortis Escorts in Delhi and Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. But CGHS officials refused to reimburse the 13 lakh 80 thousand rupees spent at that time. Because this hospital was not involved in the CGHS panel.
